The Hamas attacks and a significant uptick in the number of people crossing the border known as Special Interest Aliens or SIA have many concerned about border security.
According to the just-released Homeland Threat Assessment Report for 2024, migration is one of the areas being watched closely by the US. The report shows a growing number of individuals on the Terrorist Screening Data set also known as "The Watchlist." Ari Jimenez is a retired Special Agent In Charge of Homeland Security Investigations for part of South Texas. He says " You cannot just paint everyone with a broad brush because of the location they come from or their last name. However, when you do have individuals from these countries you always want to double-check exactly because of that because you just don't know."
