"I think a lot of it is due to in-attentive drivers, people on their cell phones, talking with passengers, you know texting, those types of things,” said Daugherty. "People weaving in and out of traffic, driving high speeds to get somewhere." Sadly, this year's number will likely rise in the next few weeks as the weather gets warmer and more motorcyclists are out on the roads.
