This weather system will also create winds of up to 55 miles per hour in areas near the Great Salt Lake, South Central Utah, the Canyonlands and Castle Valley. These gusts are expected to calm down by Tuesday evening - some earlier than that, depending on the area.By Monday morning, the majority of the state had been placed under either a Winter Storm Warning or a Winter Weather Advisory.The Wasatch Mountains south of I-80 to include the cities of Alta and Brighton, issued from 11 a.m.
The Southern Utah Mountains to include the cities of Brian Head and Alton, issued from 5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday.
