The University of the Incarnate Word overcame a slow start with a big second half to steamroll Lamar 41-20 in a Southland Conference game Saturday afternoon at Benson Stadium . No. 8 UIW is now one win away from clinching the conference's automatic berth in the FCS playoffs. The Cardinals will have a chance to wrap that up Saturday when UIW travels to Nacogdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin . 'I think we played a pretty good football game,' UIW head coach Clint Killough said.

Dekalon Taylor had 15 carries for 98 yards and caught three passes for another 23 yards, and the duo of Timothy Carter and Lontrell Turner combined for another 15 carries and 88 yards. UIW had two possessions inside Lamar's 10-yard line in the first quarter but managed just three points after a penalty and sack snuffed out one drive and a missed field goal ended another.
