Prevented by the pandemic from staging its first pageant sooner, the city of League City sponsored at-large contestants Jaelynd Edwards and Destiny Fernandisse in last year’s state finals for Miss Texas Teen USA and Miss Texas USA.The inaugural Miss League City pageant is scheduled March 2-4 as a preliminary to Miss Texas USA and Miss Texas Teen USA, director Kelly Williams said.
The Miss contestants are: Somer Charles, Avery Doubenmier, Kiara Fort, Jada Foster, Rachel Goebel, Camryn Hopkins, Michelle Lacey, Sydney Rice, Elizabeth Richards, Mary Sickler, Chloe Simmons, Brooklyn Sorensen, Kalypso Tate and Lexi Whitworth. However, the rule changes don’t apply for Teen contestants, who were born 2004 through 2008, per information atThe contestants will be filmed March 2 on a walking tour of League City’s historic downtown area and the city will use the photos and videos as marketing assets, Polk said.
The fitness award, as scored by the media judges, is announced March 4 after the pageant judges have completed their scoring of the contestants in interview, swimsuit and evening gown, with each category counting for one-third of each contestant’s total points.
