She was able to get the car in park before the full grips took hold. But she came to with an EMT at her window. It led to a hospitalization and search for answers that stretched through the summer and as far as the Mayo Clinic before doctors delivered a diagnosis: Brain cancer.At the time of the second incident, Josh, who lives about an hour from his parents, left the Rays for a couple of days.
On the surface, at least, it’s possible the situation has had an impact on Nathaniel’s performance. The AL’s Silver Slugger first baseman last year, he has followed up a .781 OPS in the first half with a .766 mark in the second. That includes a .160/.294/.245/.538 slash line in September. He’s also been dropped on a number of occasions from the No. 3 spot in the order to somewhere lower.
