Protests have died down in many cities, but marches in Portland, Ore., have continued and sometimes ended in violence. The arrival of federal agents has heightened tensions.

Most left after the event ended at dusk on Tuesday, but a couple dozen walked to a nearby park across from the Multnomah County Justice Center, where a group has gathered every night since soon after George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police on May 25.
