Mamelodi Sundowns players took to Instagram to pay tribute to coach Rulani Mokwena, who is set to leave the club.
DStv Premiership-winning coach Rulani Mokwena and Mamelodi Sundowns are set to part ways barely a year into his four-year contract. News of his exit was first reported byHowever, against the news, the rumour mill made it known that the Mamelodi Sundowns gaffer and sporting director Flemming Berg have athe other issue that deepened the rift between Mokwena and Berg was the club’s failure to pull out all the stops to sign Tshegofatso Mabasa or Khanyisa Mayo in January.
Mamelodi Sundowns also announced that it had parted ways with Brian Onyango, Bongani Zungu, and Gaston Sirino. Against the news of their exit, Sundowns attacker Junior Mendieta confirmed to the media that he might move to Greece. A huge contract termination payout is said to be on the cards. Rulani Mokwena, who won the DStv Premiership and the Coach of the Season award, was absent during the team’s first meeting at Chloorkop.
