A new independent United Nations report provides a glimpse of the horrific last moments of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, detailing how the men lying in wait for him at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, coolly discussed how they would dismember his corpse.
Mutreb and another man are also heard trying to force Khashoggi to send his son a message telling him not to worry if he doesn’t hear from him, according to the paper. The kingdom has put 11 people on trial for the slaying in nonpublic proceedings. The 33-year-old prince, who continues to have the support of his father, King Salman, denies any involvement in the killing. Khashoggi was a columnist for the Washington Post and was residing in the U.S. at the time of his death. His remains have never been found.
