Wish #446 will send medical supplies to the Ohmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv, which is treating critically ill children as well as children and adults wounded in attacks. Wish #447 will bring relief supplies such as food, clothing and medicine through Hand in Hand Together, which has been helping Ukraine since 1994. Goods are sent in container shipments or purchased in a nearby country for distribution.
Wish #448 will provide baby supplies in Slovakia, where many Ukrainians have fled to a refugee center there. $40 will buy a pack of 100 diapers, $9 a box of formula, $3.50 baby cereal. Wish #449 will bring food bags, hygiene kits and a truck to transport disabled people in Moldova. On Ukraine’s southern border, the country also needs help with refugees.Former Piedmont resident Michael Friedes will have an exhibit in the Piedmont Center for the Arts at 801 Magnolia Ave. entitled “A Time of Place.” The abstract landscape exhibit celebrates his love story with the Bay Area and its beauty. Visit the free exhibit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
