Defendant Fayaka Dunbar’s trial began in the 371st District Court at Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center in Fort Worth on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023. Dunbar was indicted on capital murder.Their friendship developed in high school as they managed life around Baptist dogma hostile to their sexual orientation and gender identity and relatives who initially were wary.
Dunbar was also indicted under the capital murder component that each killing occurred during the course of a robbery attempt.
