Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Makanan Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee berkata, syarikat pengimport beras tunggal negara Padiberas Nasional Berhad tidak mengalami sebarang masalah bagi mengimport stok berkenaan secara langsung.
"Apabila ada negara pengeluar dilaporkan tidak membenarkan beras mereka dieksport akibat Covid-19, timbul kebimbangan kepada kita kerana ia membabitkan aspek keselamatan makanan negara. Mengulas mengenai kesan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan terhadap pengeluaran hasil pertanian negara, Kiandee berkata, sektor pertanian tidak mengalami kesan besar berikutan petani diberi kebenaran melakukan kerja mereka seperti biasa.
"Sekarang sudah bermula musim menanam padi jadi secara keseluruhan tiada kesan kepada pengeluaran padi negara sepanjang PKP," katanya.
