INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis are searching for a suspect who fired a shot at an officer on the east side of the city on Thursday.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were in the 5100 block of E. 21st Street working an investigation at 3:30 p.m. They located an individual who had a warrant out for his arrest in a separate investigation.Officers began a foot pursuit and at some point, the suspect fired a shot at an officer.The suspect is described as a black male, 5’5” and 180 pounds with dreads just above his shoulders. He is wearing a black tank top and blue jean shorts.
