The shooting happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Kappes Street.
INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed in a shooting on the southwest side of Indianapolis Monday evening., near West Morris Street and South Belmont Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found a man who had apparently been shot.Investigators received information that led them to believe a possible suspect may be inside another home on Kappes Street. Detectives and members of the IMPD SWAT team responded to determine if that person is inside the home.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim once family has been notified.
