Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 4100 block of Shore Drive on reports of a person shot at around 8:30 p.m.
INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis are investigating after a man was shot and killed on the northwest side of Indianapolis Friday night.Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot injury. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.IMPD says the victim was having a picnic in the area with his wife when the suspects approached them. Shots were fired shortly after.
It is unclear if the victim knew the suspects prior to the incident.According to IMPD, shortly after the shooting, a vehicle pursuit broke out in a nearby area. Indiana State Police is assisting IMPD in looking for the suspects of the pursuit.It is not yet known if the pursuit is connected to the shooting, IMPD said.Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact IMPD at 317-327-3475 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
