“We’re proud to have the opportunity to join forces with Filmax and bring this Spanish film, from the excellent Cesc Gay to Latin American audiences,” Impacto Cine’s Luis Ignacio Perez Endara told He added:“The director, now in full creative maturity and with his trademark fluid, discreet and personal style, is able to entertain us while allowing us to explore the deepest aspects of the human experience.
The episodic narrative takes a biting look at the unexpected, ridiculous and absurd moments that life doles out, as a strong ensemble cast which includes Chino Darin , Maribel Verdú and Anna Castillo , play out five scenarios that casually intersect, in this wry take on the inability to regulate even the most subtle romantic emotions.
After screenings at TIFF, San Sebastian and Goa, the movie enjoyed a successful first weekend at movie theaters across Spain. Barcelona-based studio Filmax brokered the Latin America deal, securing further sales to Paradiso Films , Kino Swiat , One From The Heart , Russian Report , BookMyShow , Cinemania and Cirko Film .
Screening at Ventana Sur’s Puerto Madero Cinemark, “Four’s a Crowd” is described by Filmax as a “wild romantic comedy.” It turns on Julián, a 50-year-old divorced man who starts to use an app to share his car with strangers and most especially Lorena, a young woman with whom Julian would like to share much more.
