Our reporter on scene estimated there were close to 100 people gathered near Chicano Park Monday afternoon.

SAN DIEGO — Protests against President Donald Trump's immigration policies continued in San Diego on Monday, and one group of protesters marched on I-5 's southbound lanes near Chicano Park. 'Our citizenship is in question. Our citizenship. Not everybody else's. Just ours,” said veteran Eric Dias. 'Mexicans Ain't Going Anywhere.''It's a way to defeat their mental psychology war against them,” said Carlos Gomez.Around 4:45 p.m., the protest shifted.

And then slowly but surely, people started inching their way in, closing down lanes.'The move led to a lengthy gridlock. Both California Highway Patrol and Coronado Police closed the Coronado Bridge and forced part of the freeway to close.By 5:10 p.m., they were cleared. No arrests were made and protestors say their strategy was effective.'Sending a message isn't always going to be convenient for other people.
