Ilocos Norte governor denies alleged COVID19 deaths in province
MANILA - Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc on Wednesday denied reports that 5 people have died in a hospital in the province because of the coronavirus disease 2019 .
The patient, with her COVID-19 test result still pending, was later transferred to the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center due to her deteriorating condition. She was also categorized as COVID-19 suspect. Manotoc said such reports are erroneous. There were only three deaths, one due to aneurysm, and two others due to acute respiratory failure.
