The Illinois House has taken up the state budget Tuesday after the Senate approved the $53.1 billion plan.
Illinois lawmakers passed a state $53 billion budget early Wednesday morning, which now awaits the signature of Governor JB Pritzker.The governor released a statement overnight saying in part, "From expectant mothers and their newborn babies to people with disabilities to veterans to seniors who need our care, we're keeping our promises to all Illinoisans and the most vulnerable among us."The budget could help you save money at the grocery store.
Meanwhile, the budget does not include money to help the Bears build a new stadium, on the Chicago lakefront.
