at Brett Kavanaugh’s September 2018 Supreme Court confirmation hearings. She was anxiously pacing in the living room of her Brookline, Massachusetts, home, and more than anything, she felt unsafe — like she couldn’t go past her doorstep.
“I just felt that the questions were not just for Dr. Ford,” Leckey, who is now running for Massachusetts Representative Joseph Kennedy III’s seat, continued. “It was for everyone who [is] a survivor. I felt like that’s an experience that has happened in different forms in my life, where I wasn’t believed or [was] asked to be quiet or dismissed…as if I was assumed to be a liar. It was like I was living through her experience.
