Igloo is recalling over 1 million of its 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to a risk of physical injury. The company has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. The coolers were sold at various retailers nationwide and online between January 2019 and January 2023.
The ice chest and cooler manufacturer Igloo announced it is recalling over 1 million of its 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers because they pose a physical danger to owners. Igloo said it has had 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations, the CPSC said.
About 1,060,000 of the items were sold in the U.S. between January 2019 to January of this year for about $80-$140. About 47,000 of these coolers were additionally sold in Canada and 23,000 were sold in Mexico. The coolers, which come in multiple body and lid color combinations, were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com, and other websites.
The coolers were manufactured prior to January 2024. The date of manufacture is located on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month and the last two digits of the year.
