IFP president Velenkosini Hlabisa briefs the media on coalitions at IFP Head Office in Durban. This comes as the ANC recalled eThekwini mayor Mxolisi Kaunda. of his mayoral chain had nothing to do with its decision to form a coalition with the ANC , DA and National Freedom Party .

Addressing the media on Wednesday during the party's announcement that it had decided to enter into a government of national unity , IFP president Velenkosini Hlabisa said he respected the ANC's decision to recall Kaunda. He said:"No, the IFP, under no circumstances, no matter how much we are unhappy with eThekwini - because our wish was, if we won the election, consider the disbandment of eThekwini municipality - could we use a local government sphere issue to bargain at a national and provincial level because people did not vote for the local government."South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
