Batman: The Brave and the Bold has the potential to become its own sub-universe within the grander DC Universe being formed, but will it be too much?
Batman: The Brave and the Bold has the opportunity to create its own Gotham-set franchise within the new DC Universe, but it does run the risk of Batman overload if not executed well. Considering the fact that Warner Bros. and DC Studios already have two Batman-related universes in the works, potentially adding another is inherently tricky.
DC Already Has Three Separate Movie Universes Planned DC Studios is currently attempting to wrap up the final DC films produced under the old leadership prior to the new heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. This includes the recently released Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, all of which will release by the end of 2023.
As such, The Brave and the Bold can offer a Dark Knight who's the opposite of Pattinson's, one who's in his prime or perhaps even just past it having trained 4 other Robins in the original comics by the time he encounters his son Damian. The DCU's Batman can be an established pillar of justice in Gotham and the DC Universe at large. As such, audiences would then have two very different takes on the Dark Knight to appreciate and enjoy.
