Idrus replaces Tan Sri Tommy Thomas who resigned from the post on Feb 28.
PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Idrus Harun has been appointed as the new Attorney General with immediate effect.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to his appointment."The King has consented to Thomas' request to cut his tenure short on Feb 28. The government thanks him for his service," said the statement.
