ANCHORAGE, Alaska - If you’re an Iditarod race finisher, they’re looking for you. It’s part of the Faces of the Iditarod Project. Jeff Schultz, an Iditarod photographer, is working on creating a portrait of every racer who has crossed under the burled arch.
There have been 849 finishers since the race began. And Schultz figures he has photographed around 150 of them for this project. His challenge is trying to find them all. Each portrait is shot with a specific background and using a specific lighting style. A short audio interview is also recorded. These go up on the Faces of the Iditarod web page.
