Israel's air force claims the airstrike targeted the commander responsible for an attack on the occupied Golan Heights that left 12 people dead at the weekend.
Israel 's air force says it has killed a commander from the militant group Hezbollah in an airstrike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut .
The strike occurred in a residential area in south Beirut that is known as a stronghold of Hezbollah. Three security sources told Reuters the strike targeted Mushin Shukr, the head of Hezbollah's operations room. Lebanon's state-run national news agency said an Israeli air strike had targeted the area around Hezbollah's Shura Council in the Haret Hreik neighbourhood of the capital.
