Identical twin Catholic clergymen have baptized twin babies in Pennsylvania, according to a recent report.
The independent Catholic News Agency reported Saturday that Father Ben Daghir and Deacon Luke Daghir of the Diocese of Erie baptized fraternal twins Gianna and Andrew Renwick during a Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Reynoldsville.
After a miscarriage last fall, they believe God answered their prayers when they got pregnant again with twins. They rushed to tell their recently ordained pastor, Father Daghir, knowing he was also a twin. They said Father Daghir suggested inviting his brother, a transitional deacon training to join his twin brother as a priest, to participate so that it would be “twins baptizing twins.”
