The attorney for Kaylee Goncalves' family has filed an appeal against a Latah County judge's gag order regarding the case against her suspected killer.

Judge Megan Marshall issuedJan. 3, shortly after Kohberger's arrest, restricting comment from prosecutors, the defense, law enforcement and other officials.

The Goncalves' family attorney, Shanon Gray, leaves the Latah County Courthouse with the family Jan. 5, 2023. It was the first time they had come face to face with the suspected killer of Kaylee Goncalves. Lastly, he argued the entire point of the gag order is to protect the defendant's right to a fair trial and impartial jury pool.
