BREAKING The DNA of the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students was found on a knife sheath at the crime scene, an investigator said in court documents.
Bryan Kohberger's return to the state also means sealed documents that could answer key questions in the closely watched case will soon be released publicly.One of the roommates who survived the quadruple murders at the University of Idaho told authorities she saw a man in black clothes and a mask walking past her in the house on the night of the killings, and she stood "frozen" and in "shock," according to newly released court documents.
Police believe the murders unfolded between 4 a.m. and 4:25 am., according to the newly released court documents.One of the surviving roommates said she woke up around 4 a.m. from what sounded like Goncalves playing with her dog in one of the third floor bedrooms, according to the affidavit. The roommate said she opened her door again when she heard the crying, and that's when she saw the figure in the mask, the documents said.
Police said they traced the car's travel that night back to nearby Pullman, Washington, where the suspect lived while attending Washington State,Kohberger was a Ph.D. student in Washington State's department of criminal justice and criminology at the time of the murders. Washington State's campus is less than 10 miles from Moscow, Idaho.
