As reported by Variety on April 10, 2024, the breakout rapper is set to make her acting debut in Spike Lee ‘s upcoming crime thriller High and Low opposite Denzel Washington. High and Low, which marks the fifth time Washington and Lee have worked together, is an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosaw’s 1963 film noir of the same name. The project features a script written by Lee himself alongside Alan Fox.
While details about her characters are being kept under wraps for now, we can tell the project is a dream come true for the Bronx native. In her June 2023 cover interview with Teen Vogue, Ice Spice opened up about her desire to attend film school before she decided to pursue a career in music. “I love movies,” she confessed, “I always wanted to be a part of that, whether it was or helping direct it.
