Pres. Trump is moving ahead with his threat to fine people living inside the U.S. illegally.

President Donald Trump is moving ahead with his threat to fine people living inside the U.S. illegally.

The agency said the can legally fine immigrants with an order to leave the country up to $799 dollars for each day that they have refused to comply.Lizbeth Mateo represents Edith Espinal-Moreno, who has been living in a church in Ohio since she was ordered removed from the U.S. in 2017. Mateo said Espinal-Moreno moved to Ohio as a teenager but was forced to return to Mexico. She tried to return and present herself for asylum but her application was denied.

Another attorney involved in Espinal-Moreno's case said the administration is trying to intimidate and punish people who stand up to ICE and potentially take more forceful action to remove people taking sanctuary in churches.

Church World Services, a faith-based organization that works to connect people in the sanctuary movement, said they know of 44 people living in sanctuary around the country. "She may not have money but she has a community of #love & support. You can't take that Dr. Evil," he added.
