A new report from the Department of Homeland Security reveals a significant increase in the number of migrants held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities. The report, covering the period from October 1 to November 15, shows over 65,000 migrants in custody, a substantial rise from pre-shutdown levels. ICE is on pace to make 600,000 deportations by the end of Trump's first term. Federal prosecutors charged two men this week who allegedly used their vehicles to hit immigration law enforcement officers.

— more than 65,000 — are being held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities, according to a report released by the Department of Homeland Security last Friday. In late September, prior to the government shutdown, there were fewer than 60,000 immigrants being held in detention centers. And just before President Donald Trump took office in January, there were fewer than 40,000 migrants held in detainment centers. The report reflects the number of migrants that are being held in federal custody as of November 15, and it is the first released report since the start of the new fiscal year on October 1. Reporting was previously delayed due to the government shut down. Between October 1 to November 15, ICE reported it conducted 54,735 book-ins. Meanwhile, Customs and Border Protection reported another 7,066 book-ins. On average ICE agents are making nearly 1,200 arrests a day. The high number of arrests coincides with DHS conducting multiple immigration crackdowns in major cities like Department of Homeland Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin shared that ICE is on pace to make 600,000 deportations by the end of Trump’s first term in office which is still short of his 1 million deportation goal. In an October 27 press release, DHS stated that 70% of illegal immigrants being arrested are either convicted criminals in the United States or have been charged with a crime. And thanks to funding from Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, DHS has the funds to hold up to 100,000 migrants.“With innovative partnerships like Alligator Alcatraz, Speedway Slammer, Louisiana Lockup, and Cornhusker Clink, we’ve significantly expanded detention space. Despite a rapid number of injunctions, DHS is working rapidly to remove these aliens from detention centers to their final destination — home,” McLaughlin said. Two teenagers were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Providence Saturday evening.Utah Highway Patrol public information officer Davies Sanchez confirmed just aftRelieved loved ones of Danielle Staley—the Holladay woman found safe after being missing for two weeks—hurried to reunite with her Sunday evening, as her stepfaA former West High School teacher was convicted of sexually abusing a 17-year-old student in his classroom and home.Sterrett "Rett" Neale was found guilty of seA Salt Lake County woman was found safe and without any injuries in California after she disappeared in early November.Danielle Staley, of Holladay, Utah, was lA 36-year-old man from Logan is facing a felony charge of attempted murder after he allegedly attacked a woman with a knife during a domestic dispute.Santos Mat
