Saulo Cardoso-Ferreira, 37, is wanted by Brazilian authorities for failing to serve a 14-year prison sentence for raping a vulnerable child.

He entered the U.S. at an unknown date and location and was not inspected by Border Patrol officials, according to ICE .

The illegal migrant in 2020 was cited for unlicensed operation of a vehicle and speeding. He was arrested by Boston Enforcement and Removal officers in 2023. ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons said Monday the individual represented a major risk to children. Saulo Cardoso-Ferreira attempted to flee justice and take up refuge in Massachusetts,” Lyons said. “He posed a significant threat to the children of our communities, and we could not let that continue. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”Immigration continues to be one of the most pressing issues facing candidates in the 2024 presidential election.
