U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) apprehended three Venezuela n members of the Tren de Aragua gang this week across two states as the Trump administration accelerates its deportation efforts. A senior Trump administration official informed Fox News of the arrests. Nestor Jose Mendoza-Garcia was taken into custody on Thursday in San Antonio, Texas, while Elmer Aparicio-Castillo and an unidentified 36-year-old Venezuela n man were arrested the same day in Nashville.

All three were allegedly apprehended for illegally entering the country last year, following processing and release by the Biden administration. President Donald Trump, at a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday, emphasized the administration's commitment to removing criminal aliens from the country. He stated, 'Throughout this week, the heroes of ICE have been hunting down and arresting hundreds of illegal alien criminals, and it's immediate expulsion, including those with charges of convictions for rape, child sexual assault, terrorism and even murder.' Trump further characterized the Tren de Aragua gang as 'savage,' comparing them to the notorious MS-13 gang.Mendoza-Garcia arrived in the U.S. in October and was given a notice to appear before being released. He was subsequently arrested by the San Antonio Police Department in November for possessing a firearm connected to an unsolved murder. On Thursday, ICE San Antonio obtained a federal indictment and arrest warrant for Mendoza-Garcia for being an undocumented alien in possession of a firearm. Aparicio-Castillo, who was issued a notice to appear after encountering ICE in El Paso, Texas, in September, was arrested by ICE Nashville on Thursday for allegedly possessing an illegal firearm and having gang affiliations. His criminal history includes evading arrest, promoting prostitution, and marijuana possession in Nashville. The 36-year-old unidentified Venezuelan entered the U.S. illegally through Eagle Pass, Texas, in December and was issued a notice to appear. He too has a criminal history involving evading arrest, promoting prostitution, and marijuana possession in Nashville. He was administratively arrested by ICE Nashville on Thursday.
