28-year-old Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo was arrested by immigration officials in Nantucket last week.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on Monday announced the arrest of a Salvadoran migrant charged with raping a child on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts .
Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, 28, entered the U.S. illegally at an unknown date and location. The migrant was not inspected by immigration officials, according to ICE. Aldana-Arevalo was arraigned in Nantucket District Court in July on one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. The court released him on bail in July.Aldana-Arevalo last week in Nantucket. He was served with a notice to appear before an immigration judge and remains in ERO custody, according to ICE.
“Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo stands accused of some detestable and disturbing crimes against a Nantucket child,” ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons said. “He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities." ERO Boston will not tolerate such a threat to the most vulnerable of our population," Lyons added. "We will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”the arrest of a Guatemalan migrant wanted in his home country for allegedly assaulting a public official. The migrant was taken into ICE custody after he pled guilty to human smuggling charges in July.
