Just in time for summer travel, Iberia Airlines has resumed operating three flights per week out of flySFO.

Just in time for the summer, Bay Area travelers will once again be able to fly directly from San Francisco to Madrid.

Iberia Airlines, Spain's largest airline, announced that it will resume operating three flights per week out of San Francisco International Airport until Oct. 27, known as the end of the summer travel season in the aviation industry. The flights will be on Airbus' A330-200 aircraft, which can accommodate 288 passengers in business, premium economy, and economy cabins.

The company resumed direct flights from San Francisco to Barcelona this past March, offering four flights per week. In total, 154 flights will be offered on the San Francisco-Madrid route, which Iberia says is 45% more than in the same period last year. The company also stated that this figure is slightly above their pre-pandemic summer level.

San Francisco is the eighth United States city that Iberia services with direct flights. Other destinations include flights from Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C.
