EXCLUSIVE: Speaking to the Planet Holyrood podcast, the senior Nationalist said he would take some time 'to reflect' on his future but added he was 'not done' with the independence cause.
Ian Blackford has insisted he still has a "role to play" in the SNP and has not ruled out standing to become an MSP in 2026.
There was speculation in Westminster the former investment banker could become the first Nationalist to take a seat in the House of Lords. "I would like to think I still have a role to play in assisting the SNP, and assisting the cause of independence. I very much want to see Scotland being a fairer, a greener, a wealthier country. And I'll see what the options are in terms of me having an influence in that.
