[email protected] President Donald Trump was almost played by a familiar face to folks in central Pa. on Saturday Night Live.comedy festival in Las Vegas, the comedian spoke about turning down the offer, making it clear he would much rather be at the festival.
Gomez looked up at Gillis and asked him if he can explain why, and after being given the OK, Gomez explained why the comedian nearly missed being there. “Cause he was offered to be Trump on the entire season of SNL, and he turned it down to here tonight,” said Gomez, eliciting cheers and excitement from festival goers.
“I wouldn’t miss Coke Magic,” said Gillis. “They asked me if I was serious, and I said, ‘Lorne, I gotta go to Coke Magic.’ " The former president will be played by returning cast member James Austin Johnson. This is the second time Gillis has been offered to return to the show this year afterfive days after the cast announcement after old clips from a podcast resurfaced showing the comedian saying various racial slurs and using homophobic language.The show is set in Pa. and follows the story of two cousins, Shane and Will , who struggle to keep Will’s father’s business afloat.
