A war of words has ensued between suspended public enterprises director-general Kgathatso Tlhakudi and minister Pravin Gordhan

This follows a statement that was issued by the department on Wednesday saying Tlhakudi was on an ill-conceived campaign to misinform and deceive the public.

The department said his disciplinary process, which was handled by Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Ronald Lamola, had not been finalised. The department, Gordhan said, would not be deterred from working to stabilise state-owned entities , exposing corruption and creating a stable framework through which SoEs deliver on their developmental mandate.Since his suspension, the department said, Tlhakudi has gone on the offensive with spurious media campaigns to portray himself as a victim who opposed the SAA-Takatso transaction.
