GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE , Ohio – For whatever it’s worth, I wouldn’t call myself acrophobic, but I’ve always had a healthy fear of heights. It’s an odd thing really, because I love roller coasters.
In between zips, you’re clipped into a safety line that allows passage from tree landing to tree landing, across elevated walkways. Your guides walk you through the entire process before you embark on the journey, but also walk with you on whole trip offering adjustments and advice.The first step off the first platform will put your heart in your throat; your stomach will drop.
Relaxing into the ride and following your guides’ directions pretty much insures a safe, secure time. Ziplining is one of the more pedestrian thrills to be had and in the case of Lake Erie Canopy Tours, it’s also very affordable. I signed up for their daytime “Double Zip” tour, which runs $109 per person on weekdays; $119 per person on weekends.
