Thousands of fans make the pilgrimage to Harry Styles' home village each year, now there's an official walking tour to guide you in his footsteps
Venture into Holmes Chapel in Cheshire and if you weren't already aware of this village's most famous son, it doesn't take long to figure it out.
To give you a sense of the devotion of fans, that £1.74 white coburg loaf that he's holding in the picture is now the shop's best-selling item. The poster is the natural spot for a selfie too. He watched his X Factor journey, waving him off on the train down to London, and now helps celebrate his legacy after seeing a near deluge of fans now jump off the train at the Holmes Chapel ready to see their idol's hometown.
Local voluntary group The Holmes Chapel Partnership held X Factor style auditions to recruit the 11 tour guides who will now take fans out on the Harry's Home Village tours - starting with Saturdays through June and then daily through the school Summer holidays. Among the fans on the tours are 18-year-olds Phoebe Hodges and Mia Tesolin who are from Canberra in Australia. They've been on a once-in-a-lifetime trip around Europe together in recent weeks and Holmes Chapel, of all the places, was one of their key destinations.
He says he's stunned by how far fans have come to visit Holmes Chapel. "We had someone here from Bangledesh last week. And one woman took a longer flight from Singapore to the US just so she could do a four hour stop off in Manchester that meant she could come to Holmes Chapel." He adds: "They’ve said if fans don’t stop writing on it they will close it off to the public and none of us want that."
Vicki, 44, admits she's as much a fan as her young daughter and they were happy to come along to the preview tour on Friday having visited the village before as fans. But on the tour, we take a "safer" route over fields, although it must be said there's a fairly preciptious slope to navigate and a rather wobbly stile to hoist yourself over before you get to the Harry Holy Grail.
