‘I watched her die’: San Leandro man pleads no contest to murdering girlfriend near Lake Chabot

OAKLAND — A San Leandro man accepted a sentence of 15 years to life after pleading no contest to killing his ex-girlfriend near Lake Chabot, a crime he showed up to the police station and confessed to four days later.

Davis was listed as a missing person until her body was discovered. A GoFundMe page from the time of her killing describes her as a “sweet girl with a big heart. Very trusting and full of life.” Pimentel told police that he “snapped” after she slapped him during a heated political discussion, and claimed he lost control. However, he also admitted to having violent thoughts about harming her in the past, but until that day had always “checked himself,” according to court records.
