Independent MP Andrew Wilkie reveals he was “as shocked as anyone“ when there was nothing discovered during the Iraq war.
“It was clear to me that the case for it was false, it was clear to me that Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program was what I described as disjointed and contained,” Mr Wilkie told Sky News Australia. “I thought the sanctions, the inspections had bottled it up effectively, you know I had in my mind maybe we’ll find a couple hundred mustard shells from the Iran-Iraq war or something like that but of course, they found absolutely nothing.”
