LaPaglia was with the rest of his family at Eddy’s bedside when his father died, an event that came without a filmic ending. “We never really resolved anything. He didn’t really want to. And I was okay with it. There was no deathbed ‘Let’s make it up.’ He told me to go f--- myself right to the end, basically. And in a weird way, I remember thinking, I was relieved that he didn’t do a sudden deathbed turnaround. I wouldn’t have known what to do with it.
