Percat added that he had ‘wanted to quit’ the sport during a nightmare two season stint with Walkinshaw Andretti United , who he left for Matt Stone Racing in the off-season.“Last 18 months, hated every second of that mob. So, honestly, the moment I walked into MSR, I knew this is where I needed to be.”
Asked if he was out of fuel at the end of the race, he replied “I was! Will Brown thought I was waving to the crowd ecstatically – which I was – but I was signalling him to push me!”
