It might be controversial, but I've found a park I prefer to Sefton Park
When people in Liverpool say ‘do you fancy going to the park?’ The first thought for many would be ‘let’s go to Sefton Park .’ For me this thought was the exact same. I live less than a five minute walk from Sefton Park and since moving here I’ve spent a lot of my spare time walking and running around it, sitting in the sunshine and reading my book or even enjoying a picnic. However, I think all that is about to change.
There is a gorgeous café inside a very grand building in the centre of the park, a botanical garden, possibly one of the most tranquil hidden gems I’ve found so far in the city, and of course its idyllic little bookshop. The park's The Reader Café offers breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, snacks and desserts - which all looked delicious. But there was one thing that massively stood out to me, just how calming and tranquil the park is compared to Sefton.
