Plaza Inn is offering something you can’t get anywhere else at Disneyland.
Character Breakfast with Minnie and Friends is one of Disneyland’s best-kept secrets. It happens every day, but you won’t see it publicized in many places. It took years of me going to the parks regularly before I even realized it was an option, mostly because it’s very hard to get a reservation, and so available spots rarely pop up in the Disneyland app.
But I had a friend coming to town and we planned to celebrate his birthday at the house of mouse, so I needed to make it happen. For two or three weeks, I checked available dining reservations in the app a few times a day, and finally landed on one for 8:50 a.m.First things first: Breakfast does, in fact, cost $41 per adult — and the menu is essentially Minnie Mouse waffles and eggs. I definitely wouldn’t pay that if it were solely for the food.
As I checked in for our reservation, the cast member gave me the choice of two tables, one in a less busy part of the restaurant, and then said, “Actually, no, I’m going to put you right in the middle of the action.” She then handed me two Minnie Mouse pins, included in the cost. I didn’t know that was part of the package, and it was a really nice additional perk.
As soon as we sat down, I knew exactly what that cast member meant: Our table was right by the door all of the characters enter and exit from, so we immediately saw Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. I love seeing all the characters at a character dining, but I don’t necessarily need to talk to all of them, so I was happy to have a spot with such good visibility.
