I made my own olive oil coffee, and Starbucks is actually right, it tastes creamy and delicious
It’s 8am; first coffee of the day for me, and sleepily I hit the Nespresso machine for a large double espresso. Frothing my oat milk, I add a small glug of olive oil, around a teaspoon in size. It separates at first, sitting on top, but as I whisk, it gradually froths into a rich, creamy foam.the new Oleato range of hot beverages, starring coffee and, er, extra virgin olive oil. The brew is already on sale in Italy and will reach UK coffee shops later this year.
Elsewhere, olive oil is having a moment on TikTok, where the hashtag #evoo has over 45 million views, and users sip on neat shots of it for breakfast or combine it with lemon and cayenne pepper to “detox”, while aspiring mixologists create martinis with olive oil-infused vodka, a trend known asStarbucks plans to introduce the Oleato range to UK coffee shops later this year
