Why has thou forsaken me, Android makers? I want magnetic accessories and faster charging, too.

I’m back with another iPhone versus Android comparison. But this time, I’m writing as a forlorn Android user scorned by the manufacturers who make the ecosystem as popular as it is. Google and Samsung failed to adopt Qi2 this year, the new wireless charging standard incorporating faster charging speeds and magnetic capabilities. ButThe iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are equipped with Qi2, which supports faster charging over MagSafe.

Earlier this year, when Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 series, I read many forum posts and social media commentary about how the brand failed to adopt the Qi2 charging standard. I didn’t think it was a big deal because I’ve been pretty satisfied with the tethered charging speeds. For instance, supports super fast charging when plugged into a 45W power brick and a high-capacity cable.

The good news is if you’re buying an iPhone this season, you’re getting the latest wireless charging standard and a faster proprietary charging speed within Apple’s ecosystem of cables and power bricks. The bad news is that the Pixel 9 Pro I have waiting at home to replace my Pixel 8 will not. This world runs on smartphones, and people always remain connected to the internet, so things need to charge faster than they do.

With so many features still to come later this year or even in 2025, Apple's Glowtime event felt like a preview for hardware you shouldn't buy until months later. The state is working with Google on a first-of-its-kind generative AI system that will analyze transcripts from appeals hearings and issue a recommended decision in an effort to clear a stubborn backlog of claims.

The iPhone 16 comes with a ‘Camera Control’ button, but perhaps more exciting is a slimmer Apple Watch Series 10 and the return of the AirPods Max.The high-end AirPods 4 retail for $180 and the base model for $130. Both releases are open to pre-order today and will launch on September 20.Rings of Power
