Matthew Hunkin has been in a fishing family for 300 years at Mevagissey Harbour but now is having to reconsider his livelihood second-largest fishing port is quiet. Along the harbour, boats still sitting dry and waves lapping against the outer wall, harbourmaster Andrew Trevarton is at his desk. He says smaller, more manageable steps should have been taken sooner, rather than a sudden “hammer blow” which left so many fishermen without options. He says: “We have a problem.
